NICOLE ADAMS

Nicole Adams is First Lady at Hartford Memorial Baptist Church in Detroit, Michigan. Prior to her marriage to Rev. Charles Christian Adams, and her subsequent move to Detroit, Michigan, Nicole resided in Downers Grove, Illinois with her daughter, Juliana Isabella Ortiz and her two nephews whom she also raised. Nicole accepted Jesus Christ at the age of nine at the New Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Clark. She has a passion for working with youth and young adults and served in Illinois as the assistant youth director of the Union District Baptist Association of Illinois. She also served as president of the Young Adult Women’s Department under the leadership of the late Sister Betty Jones who also served as a mentor to Nicole. Over the years, Nicole moved on to various leadership positions, and served as the assistant youth director of the Baptist State Convention of Illinois until 2022. During this time, Nicole also attended Triton College where she majored in early childhood development. In addition, she was accepted to Illinois Media School where she majored in broadcasting and technology. Mrs. Adams currently serves as the executive assistant to the president of the Progressive National Baptist Convention (PNBC), Rev. Dr. David R. Peoples and as the first assistant recording secretary of the PNBC. She also holds the position of Midwest Region Youth and Young Adult Activity Director for the PNBC. Nicole sits on the General Council of World Council of Churches and Baptist World Alliance as general board member and is a member of the Lions Club, West Town chapter. In 2020, Mrs. Adams started a non-profit, Rebuild the Foundation, in Chicago which provides food to needy families in the community, and has also started a non-profit in Detroit to fund a shelter for women. In June of 2020, Nicole relocated to Birmingham, Michigan from Chicago. After relocating to the Detroit area, Nicole immediately engaged with local community organizations, and currently serves as UNCF Faith Partner Chairperson, working to unite local churches in support of UNCF. On April 21, 2023, Nicole married Rev. Charles Christian Adams, her soulmate and life partner. They currently reside in metro Detroit with their daughter Juliana
